1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how quako, Inc. (“quako,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information in connection with this marketing website (quako.io) and its subdomains (excluding app.quako.io). It does not cover data that our customers submit to, or generate within, the quako application. That processing is governed by the applicable Order Form and our Data Processing Addendum, not by this policy.

2. Information we collect from this site

quako.io is a static marketing site. It does not run advertising pixels, a session-replay tool, or any third-party analytics service, and — outside the contact form described below — the site sets no cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the complete inventory of cookies this site uses.

Performance monitoring. On five pages — the homepage, Pricing, Features, and the Document Control and Audit Trail & E-Signatures feature pages — we measure real-world page performance (for example, how quickly a page becomes usable) with a small first-party script we wrote and host ourselves, not a vendor’s analytics product. For each metric measured, your browser sends us the metric’s name, its numeric value, an ephemeral id used only to de-duplicate repeated reports of that one measurement, and the page’s path. We collect this because sites with our traffic volume are excluded from public performance datasets (such as the Chrome User Experience Report), and without it we would have no way to know how the site performs for real visitors. This data includes no cookies, no device or browser fingerprint, and no identifier that persists across page loads or sessions, and it is sent only to quako’s own endpoint — never to a third party.

The only personal information this site collects is what you submit through the contact form at /contact; the performance data described above does not identify you and is not personal information.

We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry, evaluate fit for our product, and, if you agree, follow up about quako. We do not sell this information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

3. Retention

We retain contact form submissions for up to 24 months from your most recent interaction with us, after which we delete or anonymize the record, unless a longer retention period is required to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, or to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation. If your inquiry converts into a customer relationship, records related to that relationship are retained under the terms of the applicable Order Form and our Data Processing Addendum instead of this section.

4. Legal basis and your rights

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, our legal basis for processing contact form submissions is our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries about our product and, where you have opted in, your consent to receive follow-up communications. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at the address below.

A note on California and business contacts. The exemption that once let California businesses treat work contact information (a business email address, job title, employer) as outside the CCPA’s scope expired on January 1, 2023. As a result, we treat your business email address and other information submitted through our contact form as personal information subject to the same California Consumer Privacy Act rights afforded to any consumer, including the right to know what we collect, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. quako does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 8.

5. Disclosure

We do not sell personal information collected through this site. We disclose it only to:

Service providers who host this website, deliver our contact form, and route sales inquiries, under contracts that restrict their use of the data to providing those services to us.
Professional advisors (legal, accounting) as needed.
Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law or a valid legal process.
A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply to previously collected information.

6. Security

We apply administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the limited, low-sensitivity nature of the information this site collects (business contact details, not regulated or special-category data). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

This site is directed at business professionals evaluating quality management software. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, individuals under 16.
